About Emma
Emma has been riding almost since she could walk; her first pony, 'Shadow', a Shetland Pony (of course!), was a second birthday present.
Next came 'Simba', an 11.2hh Grey Welsh Section 'A' who proved to be an excellent lead-rein pony for her.
'Mary', a Shetland X, was a great confidence giver and was responsible for starting her love of showjumping.
By the age of 9 Emma was regularly being placed on her Mother's 14.2hh Piebald Cob 'Ted (Ted Henry)' at local shows.
Upon moving to their own yard, just outside Reigate in Surrey, Emma got 'Adam (Berlain Adam)' a 14.2hh Highland who was very willing with a careful jump but within a year she was ready to progress.
Her current jumping pony 'Badger (Vice-Versa)', a 14.3hh Piebald Cob X, was regularly competing at 3' and 3'3" classes with her owner; but work commitments meant she could not devote the necessary time to both her horses. After just a short period of getting to know each other, Emma and Badger are now also successfully competing.
Regular flatwork lessons at Beechwood Riding School, together with dedicated showjumping lessons under Patrick Delaney BHSIT, SM. BSJA Coursebuilder at Wildwoods Riding Centre ensure that Emma continues to progress.
In 2007 Emma and Badger finished the summer showjumping season with numerous rosettes and winnings and a 2nd place in the Championships at Felbridge Showground. Emma's natural determination and desire to succeed meant that for the winter season only 1st place would do! This goal she achieved in the 2'6" Championships on 20th April 2008.
